Today, video is more important than ever for businesses to share their story in a way that is authentic and fun, to bring to life the experience of their product and to connect with key constituents via the channels where many search for information or entertainment. Video is also a great way to capture customer testimonials, executives at live events, workplace videos for recruiting... The list goes on and on.
The fact is, video is becoming more and more popular as companies try to leverage rich media content as part of their marketing efforts. Study after study shows that more people are using the internet to consume video. Most of these videos are short-form videos, each being watched for just a few minutes at a time. These are the videos that are perfectly suited for sharing on social channels. Consumers want videos that entertain, educate, inspire and help them better understand a product or service.
And while video creation can be daunting for some, it is always good to have some experts in the field who can jump in and bring a project to life. Aside from the small video projects that I do myself, I am always on the hunt for talented videographers, video editors, voice talent, demo video artists and the like. I believe that every marketer should consider adding a videographer to their creative team as video can easily fit into every part of a campaign. With that, I recently sat down with Shelby Smith, a talented videographer who has traveled the globe capturing video. In 2012, Decline Magazine coined Shelby as the next up and coming videographer.
